My First Ride Outside After Hiatus
It’s been almost 8 months since I rode outside the last time! I meant to keep riding through the winter, but since I jumped straight into marathon training, never did. And then when I got back from London, I was done with everything and just wanted a break. After being pumped up by Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga, I was inspired once again to dust the cobwebs off my bike.
How you can tell that it’s my first ride outside since Ironman 70.3 Augusta, September 28th –
1. Number still on helmet.
2. Helmet forgotten at home and needed a rescue mission by Guru who brought it down for me.
3. Tri Kit(s) neatly packed away somewhere and could not be located, hence the run top and way-past-expiry tri shorts.
4. Lots of loud Prayers to all the Bike Gods of the Universe.
5. Biggest smile during & after the ride!
I’m so glad that I took Lisa’s invitation and rode outside. Even though I had to look up a lot of riding information. Good thing I know a good blog where I can read the basics of what to do before, during and after a ride 😉
It appears that riding a bike after a long hiatus is just like … riding a bike.
