Spirit of the Marathon 2

Spirit of the Marathon 2

Soon after I saw the first Spirit of the Marathon, it became such an inspiration and motivation for me that I’d see it every time I was on the treadmill. Especially powerful since the movie was about Chicago Marathon and I was training for the Chicago marathon. Or maybe I was inspired to sign up for Chicago over Marine Corps or anything else because I watched it. Whatever be the reason, I watched it every. single. week. of training. Which…

#RunForBoston

#RunForBoston

Almost all running stores across the country had a Boston dedicated run on Monday, a week after the bombings. And in spite of all the monday craziness, I went to our local running store to take part in the solidarity run. It was honoring and humbling to be a part of this amazing community. We started the run in silence, but ended with noise, chatter and laughter, as we took back our streets from the cowards who attacked it.

My Amazing Runner Pick from the Olympic Marathon

My Amazing Runner Pick from the Olympic Marathon

Not Mutai. Not Keflezighi. Not Ryan Hall.  My amazing runner is Ram Singh Yadav from India – the only second person from India to have qualified for the Olympics in the Marathon. He finished 78th with a time of 2:30:19 (the winning time was 2:08:01, and his own PR was 2:16:59 at Mumbai Marathon where he qualified for the Olympics) but he finished the course where 20 runners did not finish, including Ryan Hall and Abdi Abdirahman.  He was asked…
